They’ve got a tough job to do to maintainpublic safety and hold accountable those who break the law.Barack Obama”(Police Quotes, 2015).  Recruitingthe most effective candidates toward a law enforcement career has typicallybeen a simple task for many agencies, in the past, in the past, television, ideals, goodsalaries, upward quality, and a predictable retirement program has lured many folksinto the human resource departments ofthe many cities. Receiving additionalapplications thanvacant positions has become the expected norm in most police hiring effort.(Gordon, 2004). Eachstate sets its own standards for hiring, training, regulation, and discipliningof law enforcement officers. Nationwide, the quality of policing in eachcommunity will vary greatly depending on whether the state has mandatory trainingstandards, the community has the ability to provide competitive wages andbenefits to attract qualified applicants and retain veteran officers, and thecommunity has the Financial resources to fund a modern police agency.(DeLord& Sanders, 200.6, p.13-14). Policepay, benefits and pension program is one of the fields that many states aretrying to make improvement on them as they improve the living standard. Due tothis there are effects that have come out and been experienced as well. Some ofthe effects are; they ensure that every police officer is able to access anaffordable and sustainable pension which is available. This will help them workin a good mood and make pride of the work they do (Shulman, 2006)Another effectis that being considered well in pension side, they will make their live fairerand more sustained over a long term, therefore no officer will be makingdecision of moving out of police department due to life being challenging. There are some factors that affect recruitment, hiring in police organization, one is lack of qualified applicant. Some of the applicant in police departmenthas not met the full required characteristics that are required in the policedepartment, therefore there is emergency of hiring another police officer untilwhen there will be applicant with full qualified characteristics (Glanville, and Glanville,2011)..Another factor is efforts of COPS and otheragencies to increase police staffing through grants for hiring new officers, this made some department not to employ new officers but wait for the agenciesto hire. This has brought some impacts on the evolving issues on recruitmentand hiring. Most of the impacts are mostly brought by those applicants who havenot met all the required characteristics of the police officer, this is becausethey make work not to be efficient and also make some judgments in the workwithout following work ethics. In short police recruitment should be wellconsidered while being done so as to make sure that work will be down comfortably. If the manager and union work throughevery step and can reach some agreement on a shared vision for a safercommunity, it will improve their relationship and open new opportunities towork together for the community. (Delord & Sanders, 2006, p. 162). Themanager and union have a unconditionalinterest in an exceedingly more practical and economical law enforcementagency. Joint possession and a sharedvision is that the most vital component in cooperative law enforcement labor-management relations (Delord & Sanders, 2006). ReferenceDeLord, R., &Sanders, J.
