Read all the information in these case examples of patient-centered communication.
For each of the cases you read, write a brief review of the barriers that may be present to understanding information and how the barriers were or were not overcome. Also, discuss how a provider would illustrate each of the three skillsets necessary for patient-centered communication (clinical, communication, and sociocultural competence). Make sure you relate each skillset to the specific recommendations on professional development for providers to gain additional knowledge to work with the patients in these cases.
